OCEAN COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT SPREADS HOLIDAY CHEER WITH FREE HEALTH SCREENINGS, FLU CLINIC AND MUCH MORE AT DECEMBER 3 OPEN HOUSE!

(Toms River) – Take a healthy break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and visit the Ocean County Health Department (OCHD) on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm for a special event that will feature a variety of free health screenings, a flu shot clinic and access to important OCHD resources and information.

Ocean County Freeholder Director Gerry P. Little, liaison to the Ocean County Board of Health, says, “Save the date and visit us for this unique open house event. It’s one-stop shopping for you and your friends to learn more about the variety of public health services and programs that help meet the community’s most pressing health needs.”

If you still haven’t received a flu shot, stop by because it’s not too late to get protected before all parties, shopping and places you’ll visit this holiday season where you may contact the flu bug. But even if you have your shot, spend time with one of our OCHD representatives and learn more about many of the following services;

  • Emergency Preparedness – Resources and tips for staying safe when the unexpected occurs.
  • Clinics Services – Free and confidential screenings including tips to prevent spreading disease.
  • Substance Abuse Resources – Links to treatment or prevention services you or someone in your community may need.
  • Maternal and Child Health – Services and assistance for nutrition, pregnancy, child development, and breastfeeding.
  • Community-Based Flu Clinics – Offered regularly from September through April. Check the dates, times and locations on www.ochd.org.

Daniel E. Regenye, Ocean County Health Department Public Health Coordinator, asks, “Do you know someone who can benefit from our services? Even if that time isn’t now, it may benefit someone in the future. This event is offered to continue our on-going effort to spread the word about the important services and resources we provide and to educate the public. We also encourage our friends in the faith-based community to come out and join us on December 3 so they can share all this information with their friends and families.”

Visitors can enjoy light refreshments and a free gift bag will be offered for the first 50 people that attend.  The OCHD open house and special event will be held on Monday, December 3rd from 4 pm to 7 pm at our 175 Sunset Avenue location in Toms River.
