Event Provides Free Health Screenings, Vaccines, Education Resources, Vendors & More

  (Toms River) – The 4th Annual Latino Health Fair will be held on September 22, 2022 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Ocean County Health Department (OCHD) located at 175 Sunset Avenue, Toms River, NJ.   “We’re looking forward to bringing this event back after having to cancel the last 2 years due to the pandemic,” explained Ocean County Commissioner Gary Quinn, Liaison to the Ocean County Board of Health. “We not only invite our Latino friends and neighbors, but all of our residents to take part in this one-stop opportunity to receive a wide variety of free screenings, immunization and other critical health services."   The following is a list of the FREE services being provided at the 4th Annual Latino Health Fair:  
  • VACCINES
COVID-19, Flu, Pneumonia and TDAP
  • CHRONIC DISEASE SCREENINGS
Breast & Cervical Cancer (first come, first served)\ Blood Pressure, Cholesterol and Glucose
  • MATERNAL & CHILD HEALTH
 WIC Certifications Food Demonstrations
  • EDUCATION
               Substance Abuse, Health and Diabetes Education and more.
  • PREVENTATIVE SCREENINGS
Eye Screenings (first come, first served) HIV/STD/Hepatitis C Testing   “Many individuals may have overlooked their routine health checkups during the pandemic for a number of reasons but now we want to encourage those people to get back on track by starting with a number of the free services we’ll be offering at the fair,” said Daniel Regenye, OCHD Public Health Coordinator/Health Officer. “One of our main goals is to continue to expand our community health programs by scheduling additional fairs, clinics and partnering with our area stakeholders to satisfy the needs of our diverse communities in Ocean County.”
  Need a Lift? Residents in need of a ride to the event can be picked up and dropped off at Lakewood Town Square and Walnut Street Elementary School throughout the event.
