Diagnose and investigate health problems and health hazards in the community. What does this mean? The information gathered through the assessment process in conjunction with data received through community partners and residents provides opportunities to identify and investigate health problems and health hazards.

Many times this information is used by the HEALTH EDUCATION department at the OCHD to develop innovative programming to respond to identified health problem. For example, it is reported that the use of electronic cigarettes, juuls and other vaping products was popular in local high schools. The Health Education staff developed a program highlighting the dangers of these products and present it throughout the county to 9-12 graders.
