Substance and Opioid Prevention

Introduction

Ocean County, New Jersey has not only experienced a significant increase in overdose death over the past several years but has been number one for admissions in substance abuse treatment for New Jersey since 2013.  The Opiate Epidemic was quickly recognized as a public health emergency in which the Ocean County Health Department became an invested partner in trying to reduce overdoses in Ocean County, help residents navigate into treatment and provide community based prevention programs to combat the epidemic from continuing with upcoming generations.
